Our Vision
To be a leading provider of Angus genetics in Western Australia, delivering exceptional bulls and cows that last- boosting profits for our customers.
Based in Western Australia, our focus is our herd of breeding cows built over the past ten years, first by Cherylton Farms and subsequently by Arkle Angus. Stud Principle, Siobhan Cowan is excited about continuing to advance this stud breeding herd in the years to come with rigorous data collection and a tough selection process on cows and heifers in the herd as well as a meticulous process of selection for new dam and sire lines. Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15 will play a key role in the first step of this plan.
We aim to deliver superior genetics and profitability to our customers from a seed stock breeding herd combining structurally sound and functional cows that last.
We breed cattle that are docile, calve easily, have shorter gestation periods, produce high-quality calves with exceptional capacity for growth and breed back year on year. Key to achieving this will be breeding cows and heifers with superior structural conformation and pelvic capacity, enabling true structural calving ease into our herd.
Arkle Angus uses data collection and analysis techniques for all our cattle to gain a greater understanding of both their breeding and growth capacities. We implement this data in our key breeding decisions but ensure that phenotype is always the key driver in breeding decisions.
Our Purpose
To produce bulls and cows that deliver definitive consistency and balance with outstanding structure and longevity.
Our goal is to produce functional females and exceptional bulls. We strive for cattle that have exceptional phenotype. Our cattle are bred with the commercial and stud breeder in mind – extremely docile animals that will breed generations of enhanced, value-added cattle and maximise profitability. By constantly improving the genetics of our nucleus herd, our breeding cows and bulls will be leaders of genetic potential.
We understand the challenges of commercial beef producers and the need to constantly improve to address the pressures of the globally competitive marketplace for beef.
Our aim is to become a trusted partner with all our customers, delivering best-in-class genetics to supplement the great work customers (breeders and commercial herd producers alike) have already undertaken to optimize the performance of their breeding cows and heifers.
We will produce bulls and cows that deliver cattle of definitive consistency and balance with outstanding structure and longevity. At Arkle Angus we see balance as being the key to successfully building a herd of breeding cows – getting into calf, efficiently maintaining condition, calving ease and weaning a calf successfully – and doing this year-in, year-out.
